The Democrats are saying that Only because they want to confuse the voters and trick them into voting for Kerry. The President of the United States Does Not Have the Authority to reinstate the draft. It would take an act of Congress to reinstate the draft.

Democrats are bringing the topic of the draft to the attention of the american citizens for the same reason the terror level rises and falls each day... to put fear into your mind to persuade people to do what the political party wants. if a draft was needed it would not matter if bush was the president nor if kerry becomes the president, it would happen regardless of what the presidents say if it is needed. Although i will say, many americans will not enlist in military if George W. Bush were to be re-elected, because of the fact that he engaged our country in a war in Iraq under su****ion. Now many american soldiers have died for a war started on a hunch. Now we are in a position in which we will have to fight because of the loss of soldiers and hostiges. in closing vote for who you believe, and it's only a matter of time before we find out how honest the candidates are.

The only ones interested in reinstating the draft are the democrats. Kerry's draft mantra is another Kerry lie. Bush has and never had any intention of reinstating a draft. Charlie Rangel (Democrat) was behind this. It was he and another democrat who sponsored this bill. A few weeks ago after Kerry started the rumors that it was Bush who wanted to reinstate the draft the Republicans demanded a vote on Charlie Rangel's bill to show our soldiers that Kerry was lying. As it turned out Rangel voted against his own bill!!!! Here's the truth: http://www.rushlimbaugh.com/home/daily/site_100504/content/stack_a.guest.html

I admit that i am a democrat. but i guarentee that neither Bush or Kerry wants the Draft to be reistated. the only way that it will happen is if the situation with our army's enlistment escalates and there is a great need for soldiers. I personally think that there should not be a draft because I do not wish to make anyone that doesn't want to fight, have to. that's not right. I don't want to fight. period. I will support our troops with all my heart, but i refuse to fight. I'm already scared for my brother's life, i don't want to worry about my life as well. i want to be a successful entrepeneur and own a fortune 500 company. so i hope that we can get out of iraq and get our troops home.
Good luck to our troops and I love you Steven. Please come home safe.
