How to tell if someone is BSing you??...
So, I met someone recently and for there sake I wont say who or where. But they started to tell me all about what to expect during SOPC and than beyond(since I am going 18x). Now they say that they went the same path but I am very skeptical. Certain things dont add up. And I really dont want to disscredit him, but I also dont want to have false info running through my head. Screwing me up at all. Now without revealing and names or private info, theres really no way of knowing if someone went SF or not is there?

I usually take all info given to me with a grain of salt. I don't completely believe what I am told until I have heard it from a few others too (who confirm what was said). Other times, I ask for clarification if it doesn't add up. I'll repeat what they told me, checking my understanding of it. And that usually helps clear up the air so I don't feel like someone is BSing me or not
Hope this helps you some!

listen, you are going to experience it for yourself and if you got a gut feeling about something then walk. but if you want some SF advice, I have a couple of E-7 buddies that are SF and I know many soldiers personally that didnt pass (both SFAS and the Q course). if you like, pm me your contact info and I link you up with them.

Like Soldier GF said, take most of what people say with a grain of salt. I am naturally cynical so it takes me a while to believe what everyone says.
If you start to feel like things aren't right, go with your instincts, you can bet most of the time you're right. Move on and go for the experience on you own.

Well I enlisted with an 18x contract(Special Forces Cantidate). So at the moment just training and gaining as much info as I can to be as prepared as I can be and than some! I am very confident, but I feel its always better to have more info than less. Just as long as its good info. lol

Successful Special Forces people are self motivators and starters.
This is very important if you make it into group.
You take it as it comes and deal with it.
Don't worry about what somebody you don't know tells you.
You will find out these things for yourself.
There is no way to prepare. Either you are SF material or you are not.
You will find out pretty quick once you get there.
One reason selection is so tough is that a lot of justified resentment exists in allowing folks with no background into such a high speed environment.
It was something us new guys also faced in the 60s.
