Default basic physical

hi, i just enlisted in the army, i was wondering if i am in shape enough to not have any problems in basic, i can currently do about 25 pushups and maybe 75 situps, no idea what my 1 mile is because i hate running, i can easily fit the min req on pushups and situps but im wondering if thats really enough. im 6'0, 195lbs i just want to find anyone with personal experiences that have gone through basic and find out if they had any problems.

" i was wondering if i am in shape enough to not have any problems in basic"

basically, you can never be in good enough shape. That is the mentality you need to have. If you think "oh I can do this, I can do that...it good enough", you're settling for something that is not your best. Your best bet is to work as hard as you can before you go to boot camp so that you are as prepared as you can be...Think about it...if you try your hardest, there is nothing more you can do

No, you aren't in shape enough. If you "hate" running to the point you won't do it you will fail basic.

Your push-ups and sit ups aren't that great.

If you aren't willing to push yourself, and are simply looking for "just good enough," I am afraid you will have a difficult time in the military.

With or without a 40-80lbs ruck? You can do push-ups all day long if you work at it. Pumping out several hundred isn't a big deal if that's all you are doing. What makes a push-up hard is fatiguing yourself before you do them, and in the military, other than structured PT - that is often when you will find yourself having to do them. In certain units, you will find yourself doing several hundred push-ups throughout the day, rarely under ideal conditions.
