Arrow Is basic training unbelieveablie hard?

I am thinking about joining the army and was wondering if basic training was so hard that you could not through it or if it is possible. How hard is basic training?

Think about what it is you just asked. If it was so hard and no one could get through it, would we even have an Army? And where would our Special Ops come from? God Himself? Does not compute. Basic Training is physically and mentally demanding; more for some, less for others. Depends on you. I personally thought it was pretty easy, aside from getting smoked on a daily basis during PT. Others had an extremely difficult time, and only one or two were put out for failure to adapt. It is a different lifestyle, but one must be able to adapt and overcome this.

considering that the american army lacks manpower alot i can imagine that the physical as well as mental demands has been lowered quite a bit...

I was thinking the same thing, Tacky. I believe it's his imagination, like he said. Who here knows what happens when one assumes something?

Boot Camp is Boot Camp man. It's mostly a head game to see if you will remain regimented or you will crack and give up. Just keep in mind that you are going to do it it's too late now so suck it up. And you'll be just fine. When you get done the FMF or whatever branch isn't as harsh about some things little crap like smoking and things. After SOI or AIT or whatever to go to your unit make friends the older guys will bust yer chops a little then you find you will fit in.
