Do you actually have a point, or are you simply practising your incoherent ramblings?

the point is just to face reality. you won't see these pics on TV and you won't see 'em in an army advertisement.

i felt kind of sick when i saw these pics and read the text below. soldiers makin' fun of the dead - must it really be like that? we are still talking about fighting for oil.
maybe i'm just to human for all this.

The job of a soldier is to close with and destroy the enemy. To have him so sensitive that he morons every bad guy he's had to kill would not be very effective, would it? War is a very ugly thing. The burden of war is shared by both sides, the "winners and the losers."

You cope the best way you can in a situation like that, and often times, it is to bury one's own emotions. I see nothing wrong with those photos, other than they are distasteful and really shouldn't have been put on a website for all to see. Then again, they do show the realities of war for those wishing to romanticize it.

As for the media, they'll show anything...targeting the military and making ignorant judgements against soldiers based on photos is nothing they haven't done before.

Like you're going to see a beer commercial showing a drunk person making an a** out of themselves or a car commercial showing a serious traffic accident and carnage to prove how safe their cars are to get you to buy the product. How about an advertisement for a machine gun showing their effectiveness in a drive-by shooting? Ooooh. That's a selling point. People know what the army is all about before they join. And the army or any other branch would be stupid to think that advertising death and destruction would be acceptable to the public. So, what do you think the public reaction would be if these types of pics were publicized on TV? How about pics of our own troops dismembered and maimed? How well do you think that would go over? It's not something the public needs to see. Knowing that people are dying is bad enough, they don't need to be seeing the results.

"we are still talking about fighting for oil." What's this "we" s**t? You got a mouse in your pocket? Yeah, it is a factor. It's pretty sad when a few people decide that that's the only reason we're there and so many other people jump on the bandwagon and ignorantly decide that that is the only reason, also. It sounds like a good excuse, so we'll decide that it's the truth and ignore everything else, making those the excuses.

However, I do agree with you that the deceased should be offered respect and that posting those pics w/ the captions was poor judgement. On the other hand, you must understand that when dealing with incidents like this, sometimes it is a way of coping and/or dealing with what one has been going through.

This is not a US Army website. Read the title. It reads "Armies of the World."

its sad how people make this, take pics to death people and make fun of them, yes when i saw this i felt sick too. Is there any moral or soul out there. So many hate, those are persons, yes it their job do it proud but dont be proud of killing and making fun of deaths. I guess they are just defending their country same thing that you would do if your country is invaded or attacked. Its sad that a soldier a person that its fighting for peace and for war to stop and violence make this.

This is not a US Army website. Read the title. It reads "Armies of the World."

The twat says:
'What is the goal of this site?
The goal of this site is exclusively to share photos of the experience of war, without politicizing, censoring, or editing.
'
Which sounds almost noble........until you read the pathetic attempts at humour as captions.

The site is gonna do a lot for the fight against terror isn't it. I would imagine Muslims and Arabs will see it and laugh uproariously.

'"we are still talking about fighting for oil." It's pretty sad when a few people decide that that's the only reason we're there and so many other people jump on the bandwagon and ignorantly decide that that is the only reason'
Why is that ignorant? And why attribute an honestly held belief as jumping on a bandwagon?

Nearly 750,000 Iraqis have died since 2003 who might still be alive but for the US-led invasion. That is a cause for shame, not pride.

And it disgraces the grunts that are there, believing they're doing an honest job, whether I or someone else agrees with them or not.
