Does anyone know when and if the Army is going to raise the enlistment age limit from 35 to 42 years of age? I know several 36-40 year old who would love to join. They would be a real asset to our Military.
The age was just raised to 40 years in order to be the same as requirements concerning the reserves. You can also still recieve an age waiver of one year for every year of prior active duty service. The catchall is that you must be able to complete your 20 years by the age of 55 to enlist. So for first time enlistment with no prior service, you must be younger than 36.

Where can we read this information on this catchall?
I read about the age increase in this website and then spoke to my recruiter. I am going back to active duty after five years in the reserves. I am 41 years of age with 7 years of prior active duty. That gives me 13 years to retire and keeps me under the age of 55. Your recruiter is your best source for information.
What are your age issues gator. My recruiter just pulled the directive up on his computer and showed it to me within the last couple of weeks. If you think you are not getting a fair shake because of your age you should seek another recruiters assistance.
I just went to ANOTHER recruiter, and he says that with my 2 weeks in basic it's not prior service. That's fine, but even he hasnt said that I cant enlist. He filled out all my papers and everything! I don't get it... I donr want to get to MEPS after all this time and have MEPS tell me I cant join.
