Yeah that jackasses name was Mohamad Ali al Sahaf aka Comical Ali or Baghdad Bob. He claimed that U.S. troops were getting slaughtered even as they were entering Baghdad

i heard wispers of the russians and chinease joining iran if the US takes military action.
if that was the case and something of that level broke out i think the shimmer of a world war comes to mind.

HOPEFULLY NOT THOUGH

I couldn't see how Russia and China would join Iran, at this point the US are very close with Russia and the US and China trade off of each other like know other..also pretty close with them. But then againt he US would have another great military by their side GB

The problem with Iran is that they have a fully formed and motorized military with Special forces. All we had in Iraq were some conscripts and some Republican Gaurds that were killed by Abrams. Iran could pose a threat to US and allied personnel. Hopefully by that time I'll be in the Marine Corp and serving my country. I just need to graduate high school, then college then marines, then law school.

yep..
well there are many kinds of pain and many kinds of sorrow.

its unfortunate "M4M203" doesn't see it.
its so simple isn't it?

you don't even try to see the political maze... you just skip the whole deal
because its so friggin hard to understand.

well.. i guess its just that kind of intelligence the rest of us have left the power with...

kinda sad.

and to the point: yes... very yes.. didnt USA get any sorrow or pain invading iraq?
your point just tells me your maturity... there are no goals to achive without pain...

Here's my take on the situation with Iran.

In his speech, the president said that he wouldn't allow the international community to order Iran around like bullies. I can respect that. When dealing with peaceful countries, I would completely agree. The problem lies in the fact that Iran's president, and many Iranians want Israel wiped off the map. Should Iran obtain nuclear arms, there's the real possibility that they'd try to attack Israel. At that time, Israel would execute their plan to nuke every Arab nation. We simply can't have that. I'd personally be very happy to help Iran develop nuclear power... as long as its closely monitored and made sure to not be turned into weapons. But they don't want any part of that.

Now their current "threats" to cause the US pain should we send them to the UN security counsel is simple chest pounding. For them to attack the US would be extremely foolish. We have them surrounded with bases in Iraq and Afghanistan. Where they can hurt us however is by manufacturing explosives and training terrorists to send into Iraq as they're unofficially doing currently. But should a full blown conflict occur with Iran, it will be more difficult than the initial assault in Iraq, but it won't be terribly difficult. Iran has fairly well trained troops, and alot more advanced weaponry. But their airforce would be destroyed in the first few weeks. That is one thing the US accels at. Once we obtained air superiority, we would have a much easier time destroying their armor and artillery. The problem lies in troop to troop ground combat and the danger to helicopters as Iran has many shoulder launched heat seeking missles. I personally would love to be in the fight to rid Iran of their leader as he's showing many similarities to Hitler. I do feel though, that a diplomatic solution should continue to be worked.

I'm just saying if it came down to it, not involving politics in this. You can't judge me on my maturity, as I didn't type a whole page on this topic for everything that could be possible to come out of it.
