Default Weight/Height changes at MEPS (Aprl 3rd)

Hey all, I was at MEPS today in Miami. The RN there said that as of April 3rd, there will be new weight and height requirements. She stated that it is going to be the SAME chart as what the Marines have. She was saying that ALOT of people are going to be disappointed theat they won't get in. Has anyone else heard about this????

Something tells me this wont fly well and if it does take effect, it wont last long. The Army seems to be having a hell of a time meeting its recruiting requirements...the last thing they need is to further limit the pool of potential recruits.

On a lighter note---if you're outside the height and weight guidelines for the Army, check out the Air Force. Last time I checked (which was about 3 weeks ago) they've actually relaxed their height and weight requirements. For example, when I enlisted 5 years ago, at 5'3" I could weigh a maximum of 141 lbs. Now a woman of my height can weigh up to 155 lbs (holy ****! now that's a biscuit-eatin' woman!)

Did you think to ask your recruiter? or check an official source like http://www.goarmy.com or http://www.army.mil. The chart isn't changing to make it harder to get in, it may change to relax the standard soon. It is tougher for prior service to get in, they must meet Army standard, not DEP standard.
