Default Hello. Any 31B MOS on here? Advice for a newbie?

Hey everyone. I am hopefully enlisting sometime in the next few months and was wondering if there were any 31B's (military police) on here that could give me any advice for a newbie. Heck any advice would be great for me. I know what im getting myself into but it would be handy to have particulars to ask my recruiter and to know of anything that i should request before signing any papers. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Just keep your head and your focus on your training.... You will be getting put through your paces, so by your actions, let your instructors know that you dont carry an attitude, you just want to succeed in your assigned tasks, bearing in mind that some are designed to wreak your head.... its nothing personal, its all part of the bigger plan for your training... I am ex Irish Military, so I can tell you an MP is not Mr or Ms Popular on base... you gotta be ready to be a policeman or woman of the Military... one other thing... I wouldleave the religous denotations at home. The Military is multicultural in the US and Ireland, and religous conotations do not mix well in multiethnical groups and settings.... my advice is to keep your beliefs to yourself and allow for the fact that everybody is lean green fighting machines... no difference in race, creed or religon....

thanks for the info. yea i figure im not going to be too popular but its what i want to do. i love policing and i plan on making it a part of my life no matter what i have to go through to get it.

sorry if i am being too preachy at all. it was not my intention. i dont plan on going around telling people my beliefs and religion in general. thats not my place. the verse is just something i look to for a personal gain on the topic of military in my life.

Fair enough.. and good for you, policing the Military has challanges of its own, and it needs very dedicated folks who are into policing at all levels. As you said, you gain personal strength from the bible, so no one will mind as long as you keep it to yourself.... Good luck in your training....

Default religion and military

First off, let me say that someone who would actually confront a person for JUST HAVING A RELIGIOUS VERSE in their email, obviously has a grudge against religion. Religion is a freedom that this Military fights for, so telling another Soldier to keep his religion to himself is just plain crap. If you do not like that fact that a SOLDIER wants add a religious verse to his text, then by all means ignore it and do not respond to it. He came to this site looking advise that had nothing to do with religion, so that fact that you had to remark on it is silly. So let me say this to you ServantOfHeaven, continue serving our creator. And never let a person draw you away from that, regardless of race, religion or lack there of and most importantly RANK. That is your right, and I pray that your career places you exactly where you would like to be. Exo1, stay focused on the subject at hand, and remember what the military is for. We dont only fight for civilians to express their freedoms and rights. Soldiers have them also. God Bless...
