i know we have all heard a lot of compliants from indiviguals who were not let join the army.
personaly i dont see the big deal, my idea is , im not saying its a good idea tho, to group the homosexual population with the females, not in the same room but in the same camp or something

calmdown.. i agree that it should be.. how ever its a very tricky thing to manage, since army
can't really tailor someone positions where it wouldn't matter that much.
let me fetch you an oldie...... damn it i just cant seem to find it.. anyhows it was about
same subject and quite the same way written as you just did..
the answer was pritty much the same and i writed like a short novel of realsons why gay's
and homosexuals in general couldn't work in the military.. if you don't know nothing about
military, you could study the matter a bit further. shees.. id try to write it again but im just too tired. buty i'll give you a clue.. it comes to down to human feeling and spaces used..
the budged of the army and the effectivness of the squad. common troops live in barracks...
and share the same shower space.. the re-arrangements needed would be costly..
not only in money but effectiveness which comes over personal interest in army.
and army just works that way. if you have better idea which doesn't involve the army
decorating a personal room for every gay.. (which wouldn't work because of the lack of team coordination.) let me know. you can put gay's in their own bunkers as much as you can
put women and men in the same showers same time every day without having arosed
feelings which later could put the group at risk.
army is a place where the freedoms of the civilian life are left behind to protect it.
it is the Hierarchy within the democracy protecting it. and if you are as old
as your bio says.. well you still have very much to learn from human emotion.
the world is a cruel place. sorry pal.

Me for one doesn't want a gay person in the army that would be a very bad thing and you shouldn't be public about it, it's wrong and trust me it is bad for moral for most soldiers, in my Ranger bat we would be very upset if someone came out and was a Ranger and gay, he would face some tough consequences....

My unit too... it was unforgiving for gay folks..... and at the risk of sounding prejudiced against Gay Folks, its just not condusive towards good order and military descipline. As Rock Steady said in a post many moons ago, the Army cannot rewrite the rulebook to accomodate every social advance we make. Gay folks enjoy freedom in free countries, and nobody in the military begrudges them that, infact we are/were proud to protect all our citizans equally.... however, we surrender some of our own rights to protect others.... thus Gay folks are not accomodated for in the Army... thats the way it is, and I dont see any way it can be changed to accomodate open gayness in the Army.
