I was saying some time back that this was going to happen. It's begining all over again. Only this time it looks like the Christians, Druze, and Sunnis are in it together (at least it seems that way for now) against Hizballah and Syrian/Iranian agenda.

With Nasrallah calling for the Lebanese people to go against the government. And Syria's fingerprints all over the death of Pierre Gemayel. And the Christians, Druze, and Sunnis coming together against the threat posed by a Syrian and Iranian backed Hizballah. You may not want another war, but if things continue as they are going, sadly another one will happen. When Syria and Iran are pulling the strings tied to the limbs of their puppet Hizballah, the Lebanese people will never get the peace they want.

Israel's response can indeed be harsh, no doubt about it. Do you think Hizballah knows that? Of course. Do you think they use that to their advantage when they attack Israel? Of course. They're trying to get more and more recognition in Lebanon as the "resistance" Israel acts as they always do and fall right into their plot. However that aside I think Israel has showed that they want peace, but these terror networks are not allowing it to happen. Simply because they don't want it to. They keep on pushing and pushing know exactly what Israel's response will be. Does the U.S. want peace in the region? I sure as hell hope so, we've been trying since the end of WW2. Our tactics may not have always been the brightest at times but dammit we've been trying. Does Syria or Iran? I think it's pretty evident what they want. They want to pull the strings throughout the region and spread their radical views like wild fire. They do it with groups like Hizballah, and others with whom the Revolutionary Guard work with.

Peace is actually easy to obtain in theory. If ALL attacks on Israel would cease. Israel would not strike back and that would lay the pavement for a peaceful move towards a Palestinian state and the complete withdrawal of IDF troops from Gaza and the West Bank. If Israel would not be attacked constantly there would be no need for them to have troops there. Now, in a place where groups like Hamas and Hizballah use what they have been doing as an effective means to gain the support of the people, and where if the moderates question their actions they'll be killed, who has the balls to make this happen? You will be the moderate voice who calls out for the disarming of ALL radical militia groups?

The problem is when parimitaries strike your country, and its National Army is too weak to bring the attackers to justice, you need to work with them to get them in a position to control their own country, IDF did the opposite, and made bitter enemies out of the entire Leb nation by blowing it up... That said, we all know the errors make by Israel and the gains Hez has made as a result. Its now time for the Lebs to look into the bitter Civil war memories they have, and resolve to not let it happen again... this means Hez (Lebs) breaking ties with Iran and Syria, and swearning its loyalty to Leb Government thus getting Jobs in the National Army (with some conditions attached), and other Lebs getting behind their government in a time of crises, and bringing their country back into Freedoms light... this means getting set up to shake of undue influence and covert attacks by Syria, and standing up to any other neighbours who threaten its wellbeing... this includes Iran and Israel.

My money is on the Aborigines!!!!.......No seriosly the Leb army has got its hands tied it isnt up to the task of disarming hez...so they suffer them to keep a say.......without western help the leb army will never be strong enough to deal with hez......and with Iranian and Syrian involvment in Leb affairs Hez will only get stronger......cival war would be a disater......and it would drag the UN forces deeper.......what can a nation do if its national armed forces lacks teeth
