Thumbs up Futureweapons!

Anybody been watching the new series of Futureweapons? It's a great show and learn a lot from it. Shows new weapons being designed by various militaries.

Tonights episode showed a newew better submachine gun, the mp7, designed by the US. Unlike the MP5 this weapon is smaller and more powerful and can penetrate body armour. Wait i'm not sure if it is designed by Germany or US because it was said that German forces are using it now, but the host of the show went to a place in the US where it was being made????

Then there was the "Gatecrasher" being made by England and already in use in Iraq and Afghanistan by US and British Forces. This one is probably my favorite, it gives rescuers another advantage in hostage situations. It's a water explosive device, made by that really smart explosive dude from England(forget his name lol). It attaches onto walls and after exploding provides a new entry for the rescuers.

Next is the ATACMS, or Army Tactical Missle System. This has more than four times the range of previous missles on mrls's. When I watched it it was incredible, instead of having a 45 degress hit it hit the target vertically.

On an episode i've seen earlier they had a British semi-automatic sniper rifle that was just as accurate as pretty much any other bolt-action sniper rifle out there. It was well awesome. lol

Good good man... I life that sniper rifle profile and the MP7 sounds like a cool weapon to have at close quarter....

It's a good show. I catch it on my days off.

They talk about some things they are doing with body armour on some episodes. Dragon Hide, or Dragon Armour....Dragon something anyway, made of Titanium and various composites that can let you can get smoked by a projectile pretty bad and it takes the energy from the impact and disperses it miraculously. Nothing like your simple bullet proof vest.

There looking into making things with the same principles as the construction of horse hoof. (which is a really impressive substance, but who would have thought) and Biosteel from Spider Silk. They have goats genetically engineered to produce milk with spider silk "substance" in it so that they can get more of it faster than they possibly could from spiders they say.

Better than making Spiders the size of Sheep.
