Dragon Skin Fails Tests
I was reading our news page and I came across this article " Army Defends Body Armor Quality". Go read it. Do it now. The gist of it is, despite the claims of the News and the Manufacturer, the armor failed the same tests that the current armor passed. The General in charge didn't want to come right out and say that, because he was trying to help the company save face. well it looks like the gloves have come off.
Quote:
"Bottom line is it does not meet Army standards," the general said of the Pinnacle body armor.

Considering that he is putting his reputation and possibly career on the line I think that he just might be telling the truth.
WHAT DO YOU THINK?

Sounds like the dragon fly armour suxs. Their's no way we should even consider this armour. If it's not the very best out there it's not good enough. Hat's off to Gen. Brown for doing his home work and making sure that only the very best equipment is acceptable.

Unofficial Tests have that sucker stoppin more rounds in Class III protection than two Interceptor systems. I think there is another issue: replacemnet. Replacing single "scales" would be hard. It's a damn shame because that system would save countless lives.

If it doesnt work it doesnt work.... production issues cost lives also, so if you get one dud in a 1000, then its possibly one life lost unneccessarily... Its a rare moment that the US Army splits opinions on hardware with a contract company, so theres gotta be real substance behind it....
My vote is with the General.. cos making a stand on quality means more live soldiers when all is said and one....

nothing wrong with the basic stopping power i'd say. but aparently there is something more to it
then. like DHB Industries having more power within the army or the evaluation
vest lacking in everything else than stopping power.. which ofcourse is nothing
if the vest doesn't breath, have the addon parts, mount points or being just substandard from the
connection points.. (brakes easilly etc).

Dude, when it doesnt work, you die... simple as that.... substandard parts to the vest would not be the only reason why the US Army would go on record... theres more to it... like replacing them with the real deal......

What Im saying is that the Army wouldnt have gone public on them if they quiety replaced the duds for free.... obviously, the contractor overestimated its clout, and got it in the nuts from the General.....
