Warrant Officer or Special Forces?
Hey, I am looking to go into the Army approximately in January. I am a pretty good athlete (9min30sec -- 1.5 mile run) and can do 45pushups/60situps in 1 minute. I have almost 3 years experience as a satellite communications contractor. I can't decide between going Satcom (25S) and trying to get into warrant officer training, or do special forces comm. sergeant. My preferred choice would be to get into warrant officer school, but how long would that take -- taking civilian experience into consideration. Also, I scored an 86 on a practice ASVAB at the recruiter's office. Thoughts? Thanks

Special Forces is not something to enter lightly, if you do, you'll only quit or get peered out, waste our time and yours and cause yourself more problems than you need. Unless you want SF more than life itself, and it sounds like it's more of just a "this might not be too bad" choice for you, it's not for you. Once you fail out/peer out of selection, you are needs of the Army and SATCOM isn't high on that list right now. Your fall back MOS will be 11 Bravo (infantry).
You also don't choose your 18 series MOS, we choose it for you. You could end up a weapons Sgt. or a medical Sgt. It is all in the luck of the draw.
I would suggest you stick with 25S.

You are incorrect. If you don't know, don't put wrong information out here.
Perhaps it is you that needs to contact a local recruiter. Either shut up or give correct information. Thus far, all of your posts offer no assistance to those asking questions whatsoever. You're either repeating what others have said, assuming you know more about the situation than you actually do, giving incorrect information, or repeating your "contact a recruiter" line over and over.

Ok, then to somebody who knows what they are talking about... Tacky, can you enlist in US Army under 18x for Special Forces selection?

The 18x Contract guarantees Special Forces training and selection process.

Thanks Snips... I was thinking that, but winters got me all confused, as I assumed he knew what he was talking about, and as Tacky has pointed out, he doesnt...

I just took my ASVAB yesterday and I scored an 86, which I would think should be good enough for 25S (Satcom). Are there any other good technology MOS that people would recommend looking into before I officially choose? I've heard intelligence is good into, but are any of them heavy in technology?

18X only guarantees infantry OSUT, airborne school and Special Forces selection. To get SF training you have to pass selection, and that's on you.. not your contract.
