Default Vacation Time

Does anyone know off hand... us army - if you don't use all your vacation time by year end - do you get a vacation pay out? Does it roll over or do you just lose it?

Thanks!

It just accumulates. I've heard of a "use-or-lose" bit, but never actually seen that happen. I think it was for unused days over 60 or something. When you leave the military, you can cash in the unused stuff... half price.

Go to the website www.dfas.mil , there is a link called "Ask DFAS". Just search through the questions already asked and you'll definitely find your answer.

You can carry 90 day's. But if you are deployed, they will extend that.
I never have had more than 30 day build up. I use it.

Oh, and you don't have to cash it in when you leave.
There is terminal leave. Its were you get out of the military sooner by using your leave time at the end of your contract.

Roger that!
I took 45 days terminal leave after my first enlistment. Better option than the sell-back, you get all the mulah instead of just half.

DO NOT even TALK about that place... 90% of J's troop went there and 5% went to Carson 2% went to Korea and the rest were MISC... We were the lucky misc group... ROFL Rumor has it we'll only stay at the Hood for a year and then the unit is being transfered to Carson... who knows though. I am not sure how that all works since everything changes so much. I LOVE A LIFE THAT KEEPS YOU ON YOUR TOES... a spouse too...
