Army Combat Medic
I am planning on joining the Army as a Combat Medic. I was wondering if any of you could tell me the process I would have to go through to become one. I still have a little over a year before I am able to join, but I want to get it planned out now so when the time comes I can ship out as soon as possible.
Thanks

Hi There,
Welcome to the forum, hope you enjoy our crazy debates... combat medic, good job!!.. The enlistment process is the same just the MOS is unique to the job... you can find allot on www.army.com; www.goarmy.com and many more sites, just google it, and you will find out what you need to know... Just remember to practice your avsb test allot prior to taking it, cos I understand you need a high score to qualify for that job....
Rgds
Exo..

Thanks Exo,I'll go on those sites and see what I can dig up. Thanks for the nice welcome to the forums too. I've been stuck between Army Combat Medic and Navy Corpsman. In the end I decided I could do more good in the Army.
Thanks

If you decide to join the Navy as a Corpsman (heaven forbid) try to get into the FMF. You'll be a Corpsman for the Marines. It's a lot more hardcore & you'll have the oppurtunity to get dirty. The Marines don't have their own medics, doctors, chaplains, etc. but rather they draw from the Navy. Having been in the Navy for 6 years before going into the Army I met a few FMF Corpsmen & they were a proud but surly group.

Thanks for the reply Glen. I have considered Navy Corpsman but I thought about it and compared and decided I would like the Army more.

make sure you do good on your ASVAB, you need to score above a 50 to be allowed to get any job you want, and im sure field medic needs to be above 50. not sure how the scoring works, but i got a 72, so i was approved for any job the military has

Good on you. I liked the Army so much that I stayed in for 21 years after being in the Navy for 6 years.

my husband's MOS is 68W which is Combat Medic. He is already an EMT-B so it was a natural choice for him. I belive he scored a 76 on his ASVB (or whatever it's called).

Flight medic?
I'm having a significant amount of trouble finding info on Flight medics, it's something I am very interested in doing... anyone have any info or input?
I'm also considering being a witch doctor.
