Cool Army family.....Hooah....

Wecome, jade, you found the right place that's for sure.....

First off, your husband once again is in service. That speakes volumes about him and you and your family.. That's cool. I know what you mean about being away from home...But I found making new friends that became my brothers and sisters was totally a worth the journey. FT Jackson,SC..FT Ruckers ,AL (Home of Army Aviation)and FT Dix,NJ.. It an exciting time for me.....and will be for you and your family.Your going to be ok... just fine. A lot of my unit buddys are married. We all go out after work on the weekends and it's alot fun Their all very cool and funny too..

We have Army wives and mom's here that quite frankly! R very smart and very cool.....Im a Aviation dog...We're here always if you need us.

The Army's been good to us. So Fire away...and stay cool.....ps...be on the lookout for Fire and the Nose (mom)..they can help out alot.

Congrats! If you need anything let us know... Sometimes we are the blind leading the blind (us newbies...) but as you've probably noticed - we get straightened out real quick. hahahaha!

welcome! there are many people here with many views and experinces with the army so just ask and someone can answer. and if there answer is wrong, we have backup to let us know. (dont worry, you'll know when you see it) but all in all this is a great bunch of army folk all here to help, and to give you a good laugh once in a while.

Default Go the post's website

Many basic training and AIT posts have extensive websites with FAQs and information for spouses and parents. Be sure to google your husband's post name, AIT and specialty and it should come up.

With that being said, you are going to make fast friends. That's one thing about the military. We have a tendency to do that quicker than in civilian life. The Army also moves your stuff for you and helps you along the way with all the arranging that needs to be done..you are never totally on your own.

Look up Army Community Service (ACS) and the name of your new post (if you will be going to AIT). Lots of resources will be on that website too for new families coming in...be sure to make that one of your first stops once you arrive. Lots of classes, free events and opportunities.

As for your two year old..he is at a PERFECT age to adjust to moving around! Two year olds don't know if they are coming or going, and as long as you try to keep to his routine, he'll be happy wherever he's fed, can be comfortable and is taken care of. They also have no sense of time, so don't worry that his dad will be out of the net for awhile..it's okay...they get over it quickly and can easily go with the flow when dad gets back.

You need to make sure you stay busy...with either a job or hobby...don't sit around and do nothing..set some goals for yourself...this is your opportunity to try something new. When I had a two year old and a baby, I joined MOPS (google it)....great opportunity for moms with small kids...plus I started a few new hobbies. I chose not to work with two small kids, and I have fond memories of those days.

Thank your husband for his service for me and welcome to our family!
