What to wear?
Ok, I know this sounds crazy but I don't know what to wear to graduation. My son's graduation is on the 18th in Ft Leonard Wood. I know that they said it will be in a hall or something, but how do you dress for something like this? He is my only son and I want him to be a proud of me as I am him!!!
I can't wait to see him. It has been a while. So if someone could help that would be great.

They wear their is it BCUs for grad cause so many leave RIGHT after grad for AIT??? Anyway... not their nice Class As (which was what I was hoping). I would wear nice slacks/Sunday Dress?? Nothing formal, but I wouldn't wear jeans either. There were some that were wearing tanks and shorts... <eek> Anyway, when someone is repeating the oath and committing themselves to the country - it only seems appropriate to wear something that is some what dressy... that is my opinion.
Another thing... be very careful. Before they go into the hall they will line up outside. You can take pictures, but don't get too close. This one mom did and the Drill was yelling "WHOSE FAT MOTHER IS THIS TAKEN PICTURES!? I SAID WHOSE FAT *** MOTHER IS TAKING PICTURES!!!?? YOU BETTER STEP FORWARD. No, you'd be smart not to claim her sorry self." I felt SOOOOO bad cause he was yelling this in front of all these people and she was totally ignoring him for the sake of her scrapbook... all the soldiers were trying to not to laugh... hahahaha I would have killed my mother if she did that. hahaha
Anyway, have a great time. Ft. Lwood was nice.

That is why mothers are only allowed on Graduation day. I have embarrassed my kids plenty, I think it's fun. After all, they do it to me all the time. But I would never do it in that kind of setting. I like to use my forgeign accents when we are shopping, my girls practically want to die! It's fun!

mick's unit wore ther class A's at graduation. i agree totaly with the dress, there were half naked dumbass's there and i think that just gives no respect at all.
when i hear a realy good classic on the radio, i like to turn it all the way up and sing and dance while driving down the road. you can slowly see my kids sinking into there seats.

I didn't get to go to graduation, but I would have dressed nicely also. My kids give me the eye every time we go somewhere and tell me if I look OK. Who needs a husband when you've got such helpful children!!
I like to sing with the music in the grocery store too. That really gets them. It's usually soft rock from the 70's and 80's. Heaven help them if they play Margaritaville.

I do that... all my kids and I do. The accents are so fun and come so naturally to me.

When my sister-in-law and I were in the check out she was singing this song by Jewel that was playing over the intercom. I said "Oh, who sings this song???" (all excited) and she said "Um, I think Jewel!" I replied... "well, let them sing it then!!: She about died... ROFL... I said "do you know how LONG I have been waiting to get someone on that joke!" My carpool buddy said it to me as we were driving and sitting in traffic on the way home from work. He was pretty funny... he is in his late 40s... and so we would listen to everything from 60s-07 stuff... good times...

LOL! That is a good one. I'm surprised I haven't heard it. I love to sing along, sometimes I sound OK and sometimes I don't. If I am really in a weird mood, I sing bad on purpose, that really gets them going. It's actually relaxing to me to crank up and the radio and belt one out. It de-stresses me. So, if they don't like it, they just need to turn up their ipods.
