Cissy,
Regretably I don't know anything about officers switching branches of the military. I'm sure the Army can use nurses more than the Air Force due to their combat role. Would the Air Force release you is the big question. Or has your terms of service ended? If you didn't resign your commission & your obligation to the Air Force has been met I don't see a big problem.
Your best bet would be to call an Army Recruiter & ask him what the procedure would be.
Out of the several Army-oriented sites I go on I can't think of a one nurse that I've run into & very few officers in general.
Probably none of us could relate to Army life as a nurse or any non-combat related field. It's a given you'll be cleaner & more rested at your duty station than your average grunt. As far as I can imagine the only difference that you would encounter would be in the uniform you'd be wearing.
Good luck & let us know what you find out.
