Default Best of Days-Worst of Days

Well our overseas friends probably won't understand anything about this thread at all but my 2 teams are the Green Bay Packers - Footbal & Milwaukee Brewers-Baseball.

The Green Bay Packers football team lost to the Tampa Bay Bucaneers. What a let down, our second loss of the season (w/o Brett Favre as qb).

At the same time the Milwaukee Brewers baseball team was playing for a spot in the play-offs. The only way we could get there was the Brewers had to win & the team we were tied with, the NY Mets had to lose. We won our game, the Mets lost theirs about a half hour later. You could have heard my family's shout a mile away! This is the first time the Brewers got in the playoffs in 26 years! Our pitcher pitched an excellent game, & our batters did their job.

There- now that I've bored everyone who doesn't give a hoot I've at least got it off of my swelled chest!

Too bad about the Packers, though. My son has a bet with one of his Ranger buddies who's going to school in Chicago but is from Tampa that the loser has to wear an Obama T-shirt for a day. That really hurts my son & he's just honorable enough that he'll do it without putting another shirt over it to hide it or turning it inside out.

Too bad about the Packers --- Worse for me was what happened in KC with my Broncos. It was a sad sad day in Denver!!! I'm glad your son is an honorable man --- but Wow - wearing an Obama shirt - has to hurt!!!

Unknown to me my son's buddy came up to Milwaukee on Saturday & they mutually called the bet off. Of course this was the day before the game. I guess they each thought it was way too much of a penalty for their team's loss!

I was teasing my son about having to wear the shirt when he showed me a text message to his buddy after the game saying that he should be glad they called it off.

That was a close one.

I'm glad they called it off. I've seen to many Obama supporters for my personal liking. What did you think of the debate?

I was at work & didn't see it. All I got out if it was the McCain supporters said that he won & the Obama supporters said it was him. Typical. Every one hears what they want to hear.

I feel your pain. I too am a Bronco Fan. I grew up in Mile Hi Stadium. I may live in TX now, but my heart will always be in Denver. My dad and brother think Jay hung the moon. Don't worry, they will be fine.

My son always wanted to bet with me when the Broncos would play the Patriots. I chose manual labor as payment, the gutters always need cleaned out in the fall. The Broncos never let me down.

True, Rodgers is doing pretty good. The only trouble is he suffered a shoulder separation & is likely to be out for the season. Now what?

He tried playing through the pain, through 3 interceptions because he couldn't control his arm, was sacked four times which probably caused the minor damage in his shoulder to b4come major.

One thing about Favre - he was sturdy. After a sack he'd give the sacker a hug & soldier on.

I heard several predictions that Rodgers wouldn't last the whole season due to injuries.

My pastor this Sunday was preaching about selfishness & selfelessnes & mentioned Favre as spelling "team" with an "I". It was all about him. Had he not demanded the starting position he'd be playing next weekend & we'd have a chance to at least have a successful season.

Gotta root for them Brewers. First time in 26 years they made the playoffs! Who knows? World Series? At least we have baseball for a week longer.
