Should I Join the Army?
I'm a 23 year old guy in graduate school. I'm not sure what I'm doing is where I want to go anymore with my life, and the army seems to offer me options to start over. The crazy part is that if I decide to do this, it's like I'm scrapping the past six years of school and career development I've worked so hard on. But somehow, it still feels right. Suggestions or advice?

It absolutely doesn't mean scrapping a graduate degree. You may put that academic training to good use in the military. What have you been working on? MBA? JD? A graduate degree in the sciences? The military provides more training, looks great on any resume and proveides career acceleration, and if it feels right, go for it.

I forget how it works but so many credits credits? or Hours? idk what it is will help you at enlistment to move up from and E-1 to as high as an E-4 i believe my recrtuiter was talking to me about, so your time in college has not gone to waste but only to furthur advance your knowledge as any education would and help you elevate in paygrade etc.
Ive choosen the army and enlsited today for not only the college benefits but the educational benefits, my MoS does not entitle me to any enlistment bonous' or toher incentatives sense my career's training will pay for itself after im out of the army, which im more than happy with, there giving me and education in a career field i want, the ability to furthur my education with more schooling, and teaching me morales to make myself a better person, and more suited for the future.

I finished a PhD in biochemistry before commissioning. I decided both the pay and benefits were better than the prospects offered by academia.

You've got some options, Tailor.
Join as an enlisted man at pay grade E-4, finish BCT & AIT & put in a request for OCS after you get in a unit.
Enlist as a 09S, go to BCT & then OCS right after.
Enlist as an E-4 & remain an enlisted soldier for your whole enlistment.
Each has pros & cons.
In any event you'll have to be physically fit. This would be a good time to start on it because an opportunity might arise & you could ship for BCT fairly quickly.

Should you? I dunno, only you can answer that.
What are you in school for and what's your highest education thus far?
I agree with everyone else, Officer position would probably be best for you and you can finish your degree when you get in on the Armys dime

In this case I feel ya man, im 23 years old with 5 years experience in being a test engineer, currently I make more than I would in the army however im getting laid off at the end of this week so I want to join the army to get my education and job training, They do have a lot to offer and i've been looking at every aspect as much as possible to figure it all out and make sure its what I want but its lookin good for me so far, but with your education you can definately get in at a higher rank and paygrade. Sounds like it would be a good choice for you too!

You can also choose to go in with the college option to become an officer. All is needed is the standard physical standards and having a bachelors degree. You will still have to do all the normal things that are included in an OCS packet but the bachelors degree will get you around having to be already enlisted.
