If Fedor trained with a cage then I'd say he has a good chance. Many who come from Pride don't do too good in the Octagon at first. Same holds true for UFC fighters going to Pride. CroCop found out that as good a fighter as he was in Pride he just didn't cut it in UFC.
If you wind up in the Army you can get involved in Army Combatives tournaments if you have any fighting skills. My son was a Judo fighter & wrestler & was on the 3rd Ranger Batt team. They cross trained & had a BJJ black belt, a kickboxer & a Golden Gloves boxing champ on the team. They each taught their skills to the others. Most had wrestled in H.S. They were only in one all Army tournament at Benning due to deployments. The team went to Ft. Lauderdale, FL for a BJJ tournament & nobody came home with less than a silver medal.
My son is a Judo instructor at this time at our Judo club, my old slot. He also does some BJJ training.
At this time I feel that MMA is the best fight entertainment going.
