Post The Pledge of Allegience

Today my nice came over after school, shes 8 years old and goes to public school and she asked me a question "whats the pledge of allegience" my jaw about hit the ground. When I was in school we always said the pledge of allegience every day, and now the children of the next generation don't even know what it is???? What is wrong with picture?? Doese anyone else see what I see. I understand that schools dont want to say it because of the word GOD being in it.. but shouldnt they know what it is?? why it was so important to this country??

I remember saying the pledge every morning in school. I think the problem nowadays is that there just isn't as much patriotism left in our country. And for the schools to leave it out all together because of the word "God" is rediculous. There was some controversy regarding that when I was in high school and they just told us to leave out God if we didn't practice Christianity.

personally i feel that if you don't want to say the pledge of allegience, then you shoud get the hell out of the counrty! i pratice an alternative religion, and have no problem with saying 'under god', and if i don't have a problem with it then neither should any of the other people out there. In my high school we were given the choice as to wether or not you said it. i would have had to hang my head down in shame if i wasn't one of the people who stood up and saluted our flag as it was being said. the issue isn't what religion is being upheld, the issue is the fact that we are honoring our country and the brave men and women who have fought and even given the ultimate sacrifice to defend it.

People came to this country to escape theirs. The least they can do is put up with our traditions.

The sad part is that the country that people once used to flock to for salvation is letting itself turn out to be the very place those people fled from.

Try living in Florida for 20 years and watching as English disappears from every city you visit. It's almost impossible now to find a good job around here unless you speak Spanish or Creole.
