I'm not sure when the Army plans to do things, but if I'm remembering correctly, he should be getting them any day now. My boyfriend got his close to the end of AIT too (again, if I am remembering correctly). Sorry to not be much help!

For every Soldier it's different. Sometimes they don't get them until right before they graduate.

Yeah, definitely get used to late plans, and plans changing...that has been probably the second most important thing i have learned from all of this! I'll keep my fingers crossed too, hoping that he not only gets his PCS orders, but "good ones" at that--something close maybe! What's his MOS? Has he signed up for/been granted hometown recruiting after AIT?

Got his orders yesterday... FT Hood TX its not on AKO yet, they were handed to him. He did sign up for hometown recruiting, which he'll plan to be back home for two weeks to do so. from there we'll leave to go to TX... however his orders says to report aug1 and the sgt that gave him his ordes at his AIT is telling him no he has 48hrs to report to his duty station after he signs out of hometown recruiting. does this make any since? that gives us 48hrs to drive from northern va to tx! wow

No that doesn't make sense...he is actually authorized 3 days of travel time (I believe). He should get a formal briefing before he leaves.

We are stationed at Fort Hood, if you have any questions let me know!
