Talks Deal With North Korean Threat

 North Korea announced through its official news agency that it would test such a weapon. In the past, North Korea has insisted it has the right to test nuclear weapons, but hasn’t admitted it has them. It’s “perfectly understandable” that North Korea’s neighbors are concerned over that country’s announcement earlier today that it will test a nuclear weapon, Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld said here today.

AKO improves search capability

Army Knowledge Online will launch Phase I of an improved search functionality Sept. 30. “The new, more powerful and better-looking ‘search’ provides an intuitive interface and more relevant results,” said Lt. Col. Ken Fritzsche, AKO’s chief of operations.

President Bush signed a bill Tuesday authorizing $532.8 billion in defense spending. This includes a 2.2 percent pay increase for members of the military. 
All U.S. armed forces made their active-duty recruiting goals for fiscal 2006, the Defense Department’s top personnel officer said here today.
