Hotline Helps Soldiers and Families

WASHINGTON (Army News Service, Nov. 30, 2007) - The Army's Wounded Soldier and Family Hotline has received and answered more than 8,000 calls from Soldiers, veterans, Families and concerned citizens, and about 85% of callers have received favorable responses, according to the hotline's deputy director.

Army Studies Post-Deployment Health Issues

An Army study about the overall health of redeploying Soldiers was published in the Journal of the American Medical Association Nov. 14. All Soldiers undergo two health assessments when they redeploy; once during an initial Post Deployment Health Assessment (PDHA) and again three to six months later during a Post Deployment Health Reassessment (PDHRA).

Veterans Day Message to the Troops

Veterans Day was originally created to commemorate the coming of peace. It marked the armistice of the First World War, when the guns fell silent on the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month.
