Benefits for Vets affected by Hurricane Katrina

Veterans Residing in Areas Affected by Hurricane Katrina:
Compensation and Pension Payments:
If you currently receive monthly disability compensation or pension from the Department of Veterans Affairs via electronic funds transfer (electronic deposit), payment will be made to your financial institution as usual. If you do not receive your benefit payment, please contact the nearest regional office or call, 1-800-827-1000, to claim non-receipt.
If you previously received an emergency payment, which resulted in a duplicate payment, you will be contacted by the Debt Management Center (DMC) in January 2006 concerning repayment.

New benefit claims or information in support of existing claims should be sent to the New Orleans Regional Office temporary location at the following address:
